The places you’ve got to go when you’re in Belfast

If you’re planning a trip to Belfast in Ireland, there are a lot of places you should go and visit - here are just a few things that you should consider...

Grand Opera House

Northern Ireland’s premier theatre, the Grand Opera House combines drama, dance, opera, comedy, musicals and family shows to bring its visitors true entertainment. It’s been bringing laughter, tears and rounds of applause since 1895 so is inevitably full of history and charm, too.

Belfast Castle

Set on the slopes of Cavehill Country Park, Belfast Castle offers fantastic views across the city and beyond! The castle as a whole is pretty brilliant too, with its beautiful architecture and interiors and wonderfully maintained gardens that we recommend you wonder around. It’s a great day out for all the family.

Botanic Gardens

Even if you’re not a lover of gardening and plants, you will appreciate the beauty of Belfast’s Botanic Gardens. Established in 1828 when it was filled with exotic tree species and spectacular plant types from the southern hemisphere, the Botanic Gardens are equally as impressive today with many of those exciting things still seen today.

Ulster Museum

And in the Botanic Gardens, you’ll find the Ulster Museum! Here you can see collections of fine art, applied art, archaeology, local history, botany, zoology, geology... pretty much everything -ology! It’s the biggest museum in Northern Ireland and most definitely worth a visit.

Belfast Zoo

One activity that the whole family will enjoy is the brilliant Belfast Zoo. Known to be one of the most popular visitor attractions in Northern Ireland, Belfast Zoo is home to more than 1,200 animals and 150 species for you and your children to see during your city break.

Kingspan Stadium

Sports lovers and tourists alike – you must pay a visit to the Kingspan Stadium; the rugby stadium located in Belfast and home to Ulster Rugby. Go along and experience the incredible atmosphere of a good, competitive game of rugby in Ireland.
